Giver Chapter 12

In chapter 12 Jonas told his first lie to his parents. Then he talked with Fiona about work. Then when she was going into the house of the old Jonas saw her hair change like the apple. Then he talked to the Giver about what he had seen. Th Giver told him that he was seeing color.

Giver Chapter 11

In chapter 11 Jonas gets the memory of snow and he was very surprised to feel snow, wind, and cold. All of these had been destroyed for sameness. Then he got the memory of sunshine; then sunburn. The old man told Jonas to call him The Giver.

Giver Chapter 10

In chapter 100 Jonas rides to his day of work with his friend Fiona because the Annex is behind the house of the old. She went in but he went behind. He talked to the attendant quickly then a door unlocked and he went in. The room was very much like a normal dwelling except that there were many many books. The only books Jonas had ever seen were the standard household books, there were only 3 different ones. this place had walls covered with thousands of different books.He then had a quick talk with the old man inside the room. The old man mentioned snow, sleds, and hills, Jonas did not know what those were at all. Then the old man told Jonas to take his shirt off and lie face down on his bed. He then said "I am going to transmit the memory of snow."

Giver Chapters 9

In chapter 9 Jonas had been given a file, like everyone else, but his was very thin it contained only one page on witch there were the rules for being the receiver, there were only 8,they were:

1. Go immediately at the end of school hours each day to the Annex entrance behind the house of the old and present yourself to the attendant.
2. Go immediately to your dwelling at the conclusion of training hours each day.
3. From this moment you are exempt from rules governing rudeness. You may ask any question of any citizen and you will receive answers.
4. Do not discuss your training with any other member of the community, including parents and Elders.
5. From this moment you are prohibited from dream-telling.
6. Except for illness or injury unrelated to your training, do not apply for any medication.
7. You arse not permitted to apply 4 release.
8. You may lie.

He was okay with most of the rules but the last one scared him.

Giver Chapters 6 7 8

In chapter 6 Jonas waited through the ceremony of newborns and the ceremonies of 2-8 in one day. The next day he waited through the ceremonies of 9-11.
In chapter 7 Jonas gets purposely skipped by the chief elder when she was giving assignments. he was number 19 but she said 18 and then 20, no 19. He did not know what was happening, nor did anyone else.
In chapter 8 the chief elder explained that it was not a mistake and Jonas had been selected to become the new receiver. The prevous receiver, 10 years ago, had failed. Then Jonas saw the people change, like the apple, then they changed back just in the blink of an eye. They started chanting his name.

Giver Chapter 5

In chapter 5 Jonas had talked about his dream in witch he wanted Fiona to get in a tub in the bathing room and let him bathe her. He then learned that it was called stirrings and he had to take a pill to stop them.

Giver Chapter 4

In chapter 4 Jonas went to the house of the old for his volunteer hours because his friends, Asher and Fiona, were there and he wanted to volunteer with them. they worked in the bathing room where he bathed a woman named Larissa. Larissa talked about the release of an old man named Roberto.

Giver Chapter 3

In chapter 3 Jonas meets Gabe, who has light eyes like him. Lily had said she wanted to be a birthmother but then quickly took it back after hearing that they get 3 years giving birth then doing hard labor for the rest of their lives. Then Jonas recalled how he saw an apple change in midair, but he was not shore how it had changed because the change had only lasted a fraction of a second.

Giver Chapter 2

In chapter 2 Joanas learned about the ceremony of 12. Also he learned about how his father knew that he would get the assignment of nurturer. He learned about how his father had looked up the newchild's name, which was aginst the law, his name was Gabe.

In "Messenger" a child, who was an 8, is Gabe.

Giver Chapter 1

In chapter 1 Jonas remembered about an airplane flying over head and how frightened he had felt. The pilot had been released for braking the law. Jonas decided that he was apprehensive on the way home (not in the memory but in the "real" world). Then his family unit shared their feelings, his sister, Lily , had felt angry, his father had felt worried that a newchild may be released, his mother had felt frightened for a repeat offender, then Jonas shared his feeling of apprehension with his family. He felt apprehensive of the ceremony of 12.
